Emsworth’s Exciting Festive Charity Fun Run!

‘Tis the season to be jolly, and what better way to embrace the festive spirit than by participating in the Festive Fun Run in Emsworth on December 3rd, 2023. This event not only promises a day filled with laughter and joy but also aims to make a positive impact on the community by raising funds for two local charities – the Final Straw Foundation and Verity’s Gift.

A Run for a Good Causes

Emsworth’s Festive Fun Run is not just about racing to the finish line; it’s about coming together as a community to support those in need. This year, the event is dedicated to raising funds for the Final Straw Foundation and Verity’s Gift, both of which play unique roles in making Emsworth a better place.

The Final Straw Foundation is an environmental charity. We are committed to tackling plastic pollution in our oceans and promoting a sustainable environment by working with schools, local communities and businesses. By participating in the run, you’re not only contributing to a healthier planet but also fostering awareness about the importance of reducing plastic waste.

Verity’s Gift is an Emsworth-based charity that focuses on helping children and young people access first-class physical and mental wellbeing allowing them to flourish in life.

The run is £5 to enter for young people aged 4-16, and free for children aged 3 and under and accompanying adults. Arrive by 9.30am on Sunday 3rd December to get warmed up, stretched and raring to go!

The Festive Course

What makes this run even more special is the route that loops its way around Emsworth Park. Participants will have the opportunity to soak in the festive atmosphere as they make their way around the park, cheered on by supporters. The course is designed to be family-friendly, making it accessible for kids of all ages to join in the fun. The pathway is tarmac so it is accessible in all weathers – keep your fingers crossed for festive sunshine!

Eco-Friendly Festivities

In the spirit of promoting sustainability, the Festive Run encourages participants to don Christmas fancy-dress costumes. However, there’s a unique twist – the event organizers are advocating for re-used or pre-loved costumes. The aim is to discourage the purchase of new costumes, aligning with the eco-friendly ethos of the Final Straw Foundation. So, why not raid your closets, or get creative, and let your festive spirit shine in a costume with a story to tell.

Community Spirit

Beyond the race itself, the Kid’s Santa Festive Run is a celebration of community spirit. Families, friends, and neighbours come together to share laughter, create memories, and support meaningful causes while enjoying some outdoor exercise. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow Emsworth residents and strengthen the bonds that make our town so special.

As December 3rd approaches, lace up your running shoes, dust off your festive costumes, and join the Festive Fun Run in Emsworth. Not only will you be treating yourself to a morning of festive fun, but you’ll also be contributing to the betterment of our community through your support of the Final Straw Foundation and Verity’s Gift. Let’s run, skip, laugh, and make a difference together this Christmas season!
