My name is Hannah Bristow, and I am a Final Straw Foundation Ambassador. I am also part of the British Sailing Team targeting the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. I’ve been sailing since I was 2 so obviously the ocean has always been a massive part of my life, and as I’ve grown older protecting it has become more and more important to me. I was introduced to the Final Straw Foundation by my sailing partner, Anna Carpenter, who has been following their great work towards reducing the amount of plastic that ends up in our oceans for a while now.
Anna and I actually first had the conversation about Final Straw whilst sailing in from training one day. We realised that we were really motivated both to learn more, and to share our journey, about promoting sustainability and reducing waste as we move forwards to the Olympics.
Having made this decision, partnering with the Final Straw Foundation was a natural next step. They have already done such great work, and we wanted to use our platform as athletes – especially as athletes to whom the ocean is so important – to help promote their message even further.
