With spring around the corner and daffodils in bloom, it’s time to start thinking about Easter. We love Easter (especially the chocolate!), but like any other holiday, the waste produced over the Easter period is excessive, to say the least.
The Invisible Cloud: Understanding Digital Pollution
Digital pollution is the hidden downside of digital technology, contributing to global carbon emissions and e-waste. Data centres, energy-hungry devices, and e-waste build up all play a part. To combat this, one can declutter digital space, recycle old gadgets, choose energy-efficient devices, support sustainable brands, and spread awareness. Together, small steps can lead to significant change.
The Outstanding Achievements of our Youth Ambassador
Billie, the 11-year-old Youth Ambassador for Final Straw Foundation, has made a remarkable impact on environmental conservation. Inspired by the work the charity delivers, she has organised successful beach cleans, spoken at our Youth Eco Conference, and petitioned to reduce plastic packaging. Billie has garnered awards and recognition for her outstanding work, inspiring hope for the future.

Find a list of upcoming events and beach cleans by the Final Straw Foundation for 2024 here! We try to run at least one public beach clean per month, and manage attendance of these events using ticketsource or other sign-up websites so that we have an idea of numbers. Thanks!
The Ghost of Christmas Waste
The festive season can generate lots of waste, but the Final Straw Foundation offers some tips to help curb this. Primarily, try more sustainable packaging for online orders and use recyclable wrapping paper. Donating unwanted gifts instead of trashing them, as well as being mindful of Christmas food waste, can make a difference.
